My daughter Victoria, has been going to Katie’s Korner Childcare Centre for over 2 ½ years, and I would NEVER change her to another daycare.
As Victoria has been growing up, the care and learning she has received at the Centre has shaped how she is today. She has learned many things, and many of the daycare kids have become her friends. I could go on for hours describing everything that Victoria has learned, but for this testimonial I’ll just list some of them. When Victoria was 2 ½ she could already sing the entire song of “O Canada”. She learned this when the 2010 Olympics were happening in Vancouver. Over the years Victoria has learned many songs, and can sing a lot of them by memory. She also knows her numbers, letters, words, and colors.
Another thing that I will ALWAYS be grateful for was that Victoria’s food allergies were identified so early in her life thanks to the observations and training of the wonderful staff at Katie’s Korner. It was because of them that Victoria got tested when she was 2 ½ years old, and I found out that she was allergic to wheat, gluten, and EVERYTHING dairy. Because it was caught early I was able to change her diet without her noticing the difference, and there is a really good chance that Victoria will outgrow these allergies during her elementary school years.
During Spring Break Katie’s Korner opened up a new centre at Northfield. It has both an Infant/Toddler Centre and a 3-5 centre. When Victoria found out that her best friend Ava (Leeann’s granddaughter) was going to attend the new centre, she also wanted to go there. In the short time that she has been at the new centre she has learned many new things. In the last week Victoria has been learning French, and she can say “Bonjour”, “Au revoir”, and some of the colors. I am so proud of her because I didn’t start to learn French until I was about 8 years old. Victoria is only 4, and she’s already learning a new language.
When Victoria goes to Kindergarten I know that she will be prepared for anything, thanks to the learning she has received at Katies Korner Childcare Centre.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the care that Katie’s Korner showed towards my son. This was especially evident when he struggled with transitioning from another daycare center to Katie’s Korner. I knew this transition was going to be a challenge for him, but the care and love that was shown to him helped him to settle down far sooner than I expected. The time that Bill took to give him that extra attention from the moment he walked in until he was okay, allowed my son to feel at ease and comfortable in spite of all the new changes in his life.

Our daughter has been with Katie’s Korner since she was 8 months old. Katie’s has been a great, safe and secure place for our child where she learned many social values and skills as she has grown through the different stages of a dependent infant to a well rounded toddler. The preschool program has thought our child many skills along with sports introduction into skating and swimming. Their many field trips and outings where often highlights of our child’s day. We would highly recommend Katie’s Korner to anyone considering a well developed daycare with very considerate staff who work hard to develop every child.

I Can’t even begin to describe how much Katie’s Korner has done for our family. Oliver began his journey at Katie’s Korner at the age of 10 month, and now, 4 years later, is ready to face kindergarten with confidence and enthusiasm. Our experience far exceeded our expectations, and brought a great deal of peace to these first time parents. It’s a great feeling when you are able to get your work done during working hours knowing that your little one is happy, safe and loved. The teachers really get to know the individual personalities of the children, support the child’s unique interests and provide them with variety of activities. Oliver especially loves the day trips. Whether it’s a trip to Newcastle or to the water park, he’ll be talking about the sights and sounds for days.
